Adams Morgan [#097]
At Adams Morgan's epicenter, a group of friends zigzag along. This meeting of 18th, Adams Mill and Columbia is the backdrop for the unfolding of countless dramas, then and now: from the tragic 1922 Knickerbocker Theatre roof collapse, witness to 98 mortalities, to the neighborhood struggle to preserve the site of its weekly farmers' market...and, of course, all those partygoers' twilight efforts to make it home with dignity and pizza intact.
This image is part of the series 'Postcards from Washington DC' that aims to represent the contrasting life in the capital.
