Dumbarton Bridge [#48]

Regular price $30.00 $0.00

On December 24 1915, the Dumbarton Bridge that connects Dupont Circle with Georgetown was officially inaugurated. This bridge is influenced by the City Beautiful movement, inspired by the Roman aqueduct and a mountain bridge in Italy with intent to set a precedent for further city bridges. On the image, a spoiled dog challenges the silent Buffalo that decorates the edges of the bridge.

This image is part of the series 'Postcards from Washington DC' that aims to represent the contrasting life in the capital.
